Will Weiland

Founder
Sports performance coach

Will Weiland is a performance coach with over 20 years of combined baseball experience including playing career and a decade coaching and training young athletes. With Absolute Baseball, Will is extremely passionate about developing elite young men through the game of baseball (physically and mentally) and creating access to unrivaled training for the top baseball talent in the Texas Panhandle.

 

An Amarillo native, Will, along with his beautiful wife Jaime and their two sons, are thrilled to bring Absolute Baseball to the city where his dream of baseball began.

Jaime Weiland

nutrition consultant and Nurse practitioner

Jaime Weiland is a nurse practitioner with 15 years of expertise in patient care. Awarded Nurse of the Year three times in her career, Jaime is driven to provide the best care for her patients in every situation. She is excited to bring her extensive medical range to help educate athletes at Absolute Baseball about body performance through science-based nutrition. Supporting athletes and their training goals through individualized nutrition is a passion that shines through with care and detail.

 

An Oregon native, Jaime has spent time in Arizona, West Virginia and abroad while serving as an Air Force medic before making her way to Texas. She is happy to call Amarillo home with Will and their two beautiful boys.

Nick Thach

BAseball Operations and pitching coordinator

Nick Thach is a graduate of York University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. An Amarillo native and Amarillo High graduate, Nick pitched two years collegiately at Frank Phillips College and two years at York University.

 

Nick's greatest coaching strengths are delivery mechanics and pitch sequencing. With these strengths, Nick coordinates all in-season delivery cleanup at Absolute Baseball. Nick's expertise also includes programming with Crossover Symmetry, utilizing it for activation and recovery with all |AB| pitchers. Nick is very passionate about assisting pitchers as they define new potential on the mound while keeping their arm healthy in the process.

Vic Black

victor black II

Throwing pattern Consultant

Victor Black II is a current MiLB Throwing Coordinator with 9 years of professional playing experience. An Amarillo native, Victor has been drafted twice, including 49th overall by the Pittsburg Pirates. After big league time with the Pirates and Mets, Victor has been coaching professionally in the Pirates organization for the past three years. Additionally, Victor created The ARM Doc to further commit his expertise to the health and development of young overhead athletes. With Absolute Baseball, Victor brings the very best back to his hometown.

Victor is married and has two sons.

Melodie Shaffer

mind & body

Melodie Shaffer is a certified yoga instructor thrilled to connect Absolute Baseball with the mind and body practice of yoga. Melodie earned her master's degree from the University of Iowa in 2010 and became a certified yoga instructor in 2020. Melodie has a passion for helping people develop healthy bodies and minds through yoga exercises that emphasize strength and flexibility, breath control and mental focus.

Born in Houston, Melodie lives in Amarillo with her husband Jonathan and their four children.
